Back porching it

Words will be scarce this month as I juggle teaching short fiction to a group of nurses working toward their BSN with my regular part-time job as a tech writer and my full-time job as a stay-at-home mama. I don't want to get too behind with my picture posting though!

The shots below were taken during Memorial Day weekend. Amy took a break from gallivanting around Africa, improving the lives of children there, and spent the weekend with us. On Sunday Eric set up the hammock on our very tiny back porch, and we had a cookout with the neighbors. It occurred to me that I never take pics of us hanging on the back porch because at least a few members of our group of six adults and two kids are out there most evenings, and I tend to only go into mamarazzi mode when the experience is new. So, Hannah, if you're reading this 10, 15, or 20 years down the line, this is how you spent most evenings for your first few years of life (minus all the beer which usually doesn't appear until much later in the evening after you are in bed and then usually just on weekends).
